Researcher (m/f)
Your position within the company
You are self-propelling when it comes to executing research assignments in the area of breeding, selecting and propagating seaweed as well as assignments related to seaweed pathogens. Together with your colleagues of the Research & Development department as well as with the colleagues of the Production department, you take care of a decent execution of the research program. You are responsible for the registration of the observations and results coming from the research and for sharing the results with your colleagues. You are able to work individually as well as to perform in a team. The team supports each other to make sure that both individual and team targets are met. You might also be involved in external research projects and are able to link those to internal projects. You are a person that values sustainability and are capable of building and maintaining an international network of fellow researchers in the (seaweed) research industry.
Your profile
You are a driven, experienced and stress-resistant Researcher, preferably educated or experienced in breeding and propagating, with a completed education on higher professional or scientific level in the field of plant cultivation or tissue culture. A decent knowledge of breeding- and microbiological techniques gives you an advantage to be selected for this position. A minimum of 3 years relevant working experience is mandatory. The preferred candidate speaks English (and Dutch) fluently and has a solid level of written comprehension of these languages. Other language skills are beneficial but not required. Because of the nature of the position, a driver licence and the ability as well as willingness to travel are a necessity. Last but not least, we are looking for a team player that shows a persistent, flexible, hands-on and proactive mentality.
