During her BSc in Biology, Maria-Angeliki was part of the marine plant physiology group, where she fell in love with seaweed and seagrass, and their immense potential in biotechnology and habitat restoration. Now pursuing her MSc in Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology at Wageningen, she joined Hortimare as an intern. Here, she channels her expertise and enthusiasm into the Palmaria palmata cultivation project. Outside the lab, Maria-Angeliki loves experimenting with sewing projects, organising travel adventures and reading. When in doubt, she revisits her favorite book, Braiding Sweetgrass.
